Thank you to everyone who joined the first SuccessLab Executive Forum in Toronto on October 8. About 50 customer and revenue leaders came together at Salesforce Canada, all through word of mouth. Here is what we covered.
Informatica: from signals to an autonomous CSM
Pattabhi Raman walked us through three programs built on one data foundation. In-product journey orchestration cut onboarding time by 73%. A renewal agent replaced health scores, forecasting every renewal 365 days out at 85% accuracy. An autonomous CSM has managed about 130 long-tail accounts for eight months, with a human agent manager overseeing it. His advice: executive alignment, a strong data foundation, tight use cases, and small wins.
Executive panel: connecting signals, decisions, and outcomes
Elaine Cobb (PointClickCare), Alexis Zamkow (IBM), Rob Kravitz (Salesforce), Husain Khan (Workato), and Bala Subramanian (AWS) joined me on stage. A few lines that stayed with the room:
- AI flipped the work from gathering data to making decisions. (Bala)
- When the CSM and the AI disagree, the CSM decides, and the disagreement goes back into the system. (Rob)
- Agents handle the how. Humans own the why. (Husain)
- Without governance, any prompt can return the result you want. (Elaine)
- Redesign the workflow before you add the agent. (Alexis)
Takeaways from Moment in New York
Andrea Bumstead (CS Impact) and Emma Lo (CS in Focus) shared what they heard: forward deployed engineers are the fastest-growing post-sales role, post-sales has to be commercial, and the best AI programs give teams more time with customers.
Roundtable readout: recurring impact
Alia Pirani of Winning by Design shared takeaways from the pre-forum workshop. Recurring revenue comes from recurring impact. Impact is both rational and emotional. If your customer can't say the impact they're getting, they aren't getting it.
Thank you to Salesforce for hosting, and to Winning by Design and Rocketlane for partnering with SuccessLab.
